I played all the sports growing up. I even tried CrossFit when I was only 8 years old, I practically grew up in the gym. After all 5 feet of me couldn't play high school basketball anymore I coached middle school girls in basketball and trained for myself in CrossFit. From there I realized everyone needed to be functionally fit; middle school athletes, grandparents picking up their grand kids, everyone needed CrossFit. I started my CF coaching career my freshman year of college.
I worked at a CF gym in Detroit while I was in high school as the smoothie girl. It was there that I saw many people on the streets not living the best life that they could. It was when I had adults coming into the shop being out of their mind that I knew I wanted to change the world...or at least one person at a time. From there I went to college and made a focus in leadership on teaching kids how to be physically active and know what they should eat to fuel their bodies. Kids quickly became my passion but with that I love being able to help mom and dad be functional and play catch with their kids in the back yard. I never wanted someone to grow up and not have a healthy community to fall back on like the people I saw in the streets of Detroit.
I am 24 years old. My mom and dad are in their late 40s and my little brother is 16. They are my inspiration. very few 16 year olds end practice and head up to get a work out. Very for 40 some year olds are working out with their children and doing the same exact work out. My pre-diabetic uncle who started CrossFit now tells me all about his PRs and looks better then he did 10 years ago! My point is that this is what it is all about. I dont care how old you are, where you are in your fitness journey, I just want to help people be the best version of themselves that they possibly can be. I want to give parents and kids years and years of memories together because they take care of themselves.
