TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR HOBBIES, GOALS AND LIFE ASPIRATIONS...
Yikes…that’s a loaded question. I work hard, play hard, spend time with my wife and two girls. I still try to stay active in many sports from basketball, golf, shooting sports, and few others. I hope to stay active in CrossFit realizing limitations will increase with age, but maintain energy for my wife, kids, professional goals so I’m able to better enjoy retirement later in life with solid mobility.
WHY DID YOU START CROSSFITTING OR FITNESSING?
I started circuit training 12 years ago, and Crossfit when it first arrived in the QC in order to shed 75# of squishy dad bod chub that piled on following a battle with atrial fibrillation. I had several goals to remove the weight, maintain an active yet strong combination of weights and energy that would feed several aspects of life.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING OUT AND WHY DO YOU CONTINUE?
The class accountability and people is vital to a long term sustainable fitness model. The friendships I have spanning multiple gyms, Crossfit boxes, and elsewhere are nearly as important as my home family. I know those relationships and competitive drive through accountability are what has made the CF movement much more than the latest fitness fad.
HOW HAS YOUR FITNESS OR YOUR ACTIVE LIVE IMPACTED YOUR LIFE BEYOND INSIDE OF THE GYM?
As mentioned above, the energy and health foundationally feeds so many other areas of life for me and us all; i.e. the personal, professional, spiritual, financial, etc.
IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DO ONE EXERCISE MOVEMENT AGAIN, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
They’re all essential whether we love or hate certain movements. I don’t anticipate mastering ring muscle ups at this point in life, so we’ll say that’s the one I can live without.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING PART OF OUR FITFAM?
No matter what life throws at us, the foundation of a strong fitness community holding each other accountable is what we’re all wired to do….to do life together, in community, to prop each other up, hold each other accountable, and broaden that network in a powerful way that draws others to our gym, or perhaps another one that suits an individual and their family best.
